DAY 2… ITS DAY 2!!!!!!!!!
YOU HAVE NOT LIVED UNTIL YOU’VE HAD A BUTTER TART.
Butter tarts are little delicious magical pastries with brown sugar, butter, and vanilla. Much like crack from day 1, these little babies are hard to put down. My brother-in-law’s mom makes these for holidays so when he started spending holidays with us and brought butter tarts, he was in for good.
What do I need?!?!
1 box of ready made pie crust (or you can make your own, I use my grandma’s secret recipe)
1 egg
1 cup light brown sugar
1 tsp GOOD vanilla (Ina is ALWAYS watching)
1 tbsp butter- melted (I know only a tablespoon, just wait, its all worth it)
1 tbsp water
WHAT DO I DO??!!?!??!
First mix together the filling. So the egg, sugar, GOOD vanilla, melted butter, and water. Its best to use a whisk so you know its all really mixed. You definitely do not want pieces of egg in your tart.
Then cut out the crust with a biscuit cutter. I use a mini cupcake/muffin pan for mine so I use one that can fit in there but you can also use the regular size cupcake pan.
The pour the filling into the pie crust and bake it for 12-15 mins at 350º.
Let them cool in the pan for about 5 mins then remove and eat them all (or store them in an airtight container until your will power gives in (about a week))!
Repeat.
